Phone Question

I need a phone I can use to email and post, but I only need that phone while on the NFCT.  My employer pays for my cell phone now, but I can not send emails or connect to the Internet.  Is it possible to buy a used smart phone, and get service without signing a two year contract?  Does anyone have any recommendations for a phone?

  1. I carried an LG, not a Smartphone, but with some limited internet capabilities. Worked fine in places where there was service. You won't have service in most of Maine, so it doesn't matter what kind of phone you have!

  3. Yes, you can buy a phone and activate it with out signing a contract. Go to amazon.com and search for "Verizon no contract" phones. You can buy a blackberry curve (for example) for $50.00 and then activate it on the Verizon network for a $35.00 activation fee and a month to month service agrteement.
